(Providence, RI)--Abortion opponents are attempting to block a new abortion-rights law that has been passed in Rhode Island.The Providence Journal reports an advocacy group called Catholics for Life was part of an amended lawsuit that was filed in state Superior Court on Tuesday.The complaint says the new law is unconstitutional because the state constitution does not include the privacy guarantee that is in the federal version, which was the argument used to protect abortion at the federal level.Opponents also claim citizens should have gotten the chance to vote.
