(Warwick, RI)--Warwick Mayor Joseph Solomon and the Warwick School Committee are in a war of words over the public school system's budget.School officials released a statement on Monday saying Solomon had withdrawn from a mediation process for the 2018-2019 budget and would not discuss any mediation for the 19-20 budget unless it was about ways to keep sports and clubs in schools.The district says it is being forced to cut those programs because it isn't getting enough money from the city.Solomon disagreed yesterday on the comments about the mediation, but declared that the matter of a four-million-dollar shortfall for the 18-19 budget has been resolved.
