(Cranston, RI)--The acting fire chief of Cranston is retiring on Friday.Mayor Allan Fung announced yesterday that Paul Valletta wanted to focus on his union leadership position at the State House instead of taking the permanent fire chief job.Concerns were raised by some about Valletta's nomination after he was accused of assaulting another member of the Cranston Fire Department in 2017.
