(Providence, RI)--The Providence School Board appointed Dr. Frances Gallo as interim superintendent on Wednesday night.Gallo, the former Central Falls superintendent, came out of retirement to take the Providence job.State education commissioner Angelica Infante-Green has stated her intention to install her own superintendent later this year as the state takes over the struggling school district.
