(Providence, RI)--Governor Gina Raimondo is continuing to push a proposed state lottery contract extension for gaming giant IGT.Raimondo said to reporters yesterday that the president of IGT told her the contract extension would be necessary to keep the company's North American headquarters in Rhode Island, and about one-thousand jobs that come with it.Raimondo, whose administration last month released a study on the economic impact of losing those jobs, is urging the General Assembly to take action on the contract in a special session this fall.The no-bid deal has received heavy criticism from state casino operator Twin River.
