(Providence, RI)--Laws concerning the work done by road and bridge contractors for the state DOT are being updated.State Senator Valarie Lawson's legislation that has been signed by Governor Raimondo requires the contractors to provide a bond equal to at least half of the contract price on contracts in excess of 150-thousand dollars.Lawson said the changes will ensure the projects are being done correctly and safely and will also allow for taxpayer funds to be used in the most cost-effective manner.
