(Providence, RI)--Today is the first day of classes for public school students in Providence.WJAR-TV reports interim superintendent Dr. Frances Gallo will visit several schools, including the Providence Career and Technical Academy and Carnevale Academy.Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza and state education commissioner Angelica Infante-Green are also expected to make a few visits.The state is set to take over Providence schools after a scathing report on the district's state of affairs from Johns Hopkins this summer.
