(Providence, RI)--Closing arguments were heard on Wednesday in the trial for the sunken boat insurance claim of Nathan Carman. He and his mother, Linda Carman, set off from a South Kingstown marina, and then only Nathan Carman was found on a life raft a week after he said the boat sank in 2016.The involved insurance companies are asking for Carman's claim to be denied because they said he made faulty repairs to the vessel. The judge overseeing the case in federal court limited testimony to the matter of the insurance claim; the case is closely being followed by family members who allege that Carman caused the death of his grandfather and then intentionally sank the boat to get rid of his mother to gain inheritance money.
