(Jamestown, RI)--A new police crackdown on speeding and distracted driving is being announced for the Newport Pell Bridge.The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority says the effort is starting this week as a necessity for the second phase of the bridge's road deck project.The speed limit on the Pell Bridge has been reduced to 25 miles per hour during the project.
