(New Shoreham, RI)--The Atlantic Shark Institute in Wakefield is reporting on the presence of great white sharks off the coast of Rhode Island this summer.The institute says one of them visited the Block Island Wind Farm, while another was detected near the island's Southwest Ledge, both in July.Officials say this was the first time great whites have been confirmed in state waters using acoustic receiver technology tracking tagged marine life.
