A former employee at e-cigarette maker Juul is sharing that the company knowingly shipped bad pods for sale. More than once.
Yesterday’s suit was filed by former Senior VP of global finance Siddharth Breja. In docs, Breja says he was retaliated against for raising concerns about a contaminated shipment of mint pods that were sent out earlier this year.
The suit also sheds light on another instance where one-year-old pods were put out for resale. Breja says then-CEO Kevin Burns shot down that idea, saying, “Half our customers are drunk and vaping like mo-fos, who the fuck is going to notice the quality of our pods.”
The suit says the whistleblower was “inappropriately terminated.” The e-cig industry is facing a firestorm since a lung illness outbreak was linked to vaping.
