The top Russia official on President Trump's National Security Council is reportedly stepping down.
NPR reports Tim Morrison will resign from his White House post in the near future. This comes as Morrison gets set to testify in front of lawmakers in the House impeachment inquiry.
A senior administration member confirmed the news last night saying, "After more than a year of service at the National Security Council, Mr. Morrison has decided to pursue other opportunities – and has been considering doing so for some time. We wish him well,"
Morrison came on board more than a year ago whileJohn Boltonwas the national security adviser. His testimony today will be pivotal. Morrison had alerted NSC lawyers about alleged demands being placed on the Ukrainian government to investigate a company where the son of former Vice PresidentJoe Bidensat on the board.
