Blood Test Is Closer To Detecting Breast Cancer

There’s a possible huge breakthrough in detecting breast cancer.

We all know the earlier it's caught the better and that what researchers claim a new blood test can do. In fact, they say it can detect breast cancer five years before any clinical signs emerge. A team at the University of Nottingham in the UK created a test to identify the body's immune response to substances made by tumors.

The good news is they say it worked in a study of 90 patients, but it had less than 50-percent accuracy. Researchers now plan to try it on 800 patients and hope to boost that accuracy so the test will be ready in four years.
