(Providence, RI)--A state commission set up to encourage more people of color to enter education careers is holding its first meeting tomorrow.State Representative Karen Alzate's resolution, passed earlier this year, created the commission.Alzate says it will be an important first step to attaining a diverse teacher pool, with the goal of benefiting students of all racial backgrounds.The commission is due to report its findings and recommendations to the House of Representatives no later than April 17th of next year.
