The government won’t be shutting down this month.
The House passed a short-term spending bill to fund federal agencies until right before Christmas. That means a holiday shutdown is still possible. The idea behind the funding is that the additional time will help negotiators wrap up more than $1.4 trillion in unfinished appropriations bills.
The roadblocks for a compromise and full funding bill include the impeachment inquiry.
The measure is now awaiting Senate approval and President Trump has indicated he’ll sign it.
