Dog Trainer For Former Patriot Mayo Gets Probation

(Wrentham, MA)--A former dog trainer for an ex-New England Patriots player is getting probation for lying to police about the dog's death.The Attleboro Sun-Chronicle reports Amelia Ferreira of Cranston, Rhode Island was sentenced to one-and-a-half years' probation in Wrentham, Massachusetts District Court on Tuesday after pleading guilty to obstructing justice.The pet English bulldog of Jerod Mayo, who played linebacker for the Patriots, was initially reported missing to police, but authorities said Ferreira hid the dog's remains after finding the animal dead at her home in 2018.
