Gull With Dart Stuck In Chest Treated

(Saunderstown, RI)--A gull bird reportedly seen for months in Rhode Island with a dart stuck in its chest is now dart-free.The Wildlife Rehabilitators Association of Rhode Island says the ring-billed gull was captured by a volunteer on Tuesday after evading many attempts previously, and was treated.The association notes the case will be reported to the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and reminds people it's illegal to harass the birds.
