Florida Man Asks ISIS To Attack Colleges

A Florida man is accused of trying to get ISIS to target officials at schools that had suspended or expelled him.

Federal prosecutors say Salman Rashid worked to get members of ISIS carry out a terrorist attack on his behalf. He allegedly asked that explosives be used against a Miami-Dade College dean, and a dean at Broward College. Rashid faces a maximum of 20 years behind bars for soliciting another person to commit a crime of violence.

The suspension and expulsions came after he stalked and threatened a female student at Miami-Dade and didn’t tell Broward College.

Federal authorities started monitoring Rashid’s social media last year. The 23-year-old has a court hearing scheduled for tomorrow.
