Officials say 25 Maryland corrections officers are being indicted for charges related to excessive force on detainees at various facilities. The Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby announced the indictments, which included 236 charges.
All 25 corrections officers in the indictment allegedly abused their power by using excessive force. Mosby said the officers corrupted their obligation to public safety. So far, 21 out of 25 have been arrested so far.
Mosby said these officers “corrupted their obligation to public safety” and added, “If you break the law and you break the trust the public has placed within you, you will face the consequences.”
