Jewish Groups Split On Trump Anti-Semitism Executive Order

American Jewish groups are split on President Trump's executive order defining Jewish people as an ethnic group instead of only followers of a religion. The Anti-Defamation League, the Orthodox Union, and the American Jewish Committee all praised the move.

But other Jewish groups criticized it as an effort to stifle what they call criticism of Israel and its policies toward Palestinians.

The president of J Street, an organization that defines itself as "pro-Israel, pro-peace" said the real purpose of Wednesday's order is to crack down on campus critics of Israel.
