Facebook And Instagram Are Tightening Rules For Influencers

Facebook and Instagram have slammed an advertising loophole shut.

The social media platforms are cracking down on ads promoting vaping and guns. Influencers get paid to promote such products using the 'branded content' feature. But the new ban will close the loophole in the companies advertising policies.

Other branded content including alcohol or diet supplements will require special restrictions. Facebook is also working to restrict which users can see content based on age.

This is a big deal, because up until now, the influencing field was the wild west.
