Congratulations are in order for Janet Mock. GLAAD is honoring herwith the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, which recognizes an LGBTQ media professional who’s made a significant difference in promoting acceptance.
Mock made history when she signed a deal with Netflix, making her the first transgender woman of color to sign a major content deal with the streaming service. And by producing an episode of “Pose,” she became the first transgender woman of color to write and direct a TV show episode.
The 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards are taking place in Los Angeles on April 16th at the Beverly Hilton.
