Weinstein Threatened With Jail...Over His Cellphone

HarveyWeinstein will remain out of jail on bond during his New York trial on sex crime charges. Judge James Burke did reject a request by prosecutors to hold Weinstein without bail during his trial following new charges in Los Angeles brought against the disgraced movie producer.

But that didn’t happen before Burke scolded Weinstein and one of his lawyers for Weinstein being on a cell phone. Burke asked Weinstein “if texting is the way he wants to end up in jail.” Weinstein reportedly apologized and hung his head. Burke warned Weinstein that if uses his cell phone in court one more time he will be taken into custody.

The judge also said jury selection will start despite Weinstein's attorney requesting a cooling off time because of new charges in California brought against Weinstein yesterday. Jury selection could take days.
