First Responders Recognized For Response To Westerly Shooting

(Westerly, RI)--The Westerly Town Council formally recognized first responders for their actions during last month's shooting at an apartment complex on Monday.A dozen agencies, including the Westerly police and fire departments and the Westerly Ambulance Corps, were lauded for the response to the December 19th shooting which left one victim and the shooter dead and several others injured at Babcock Village. The police departments of Stonington, Ledyard and Groton, Connecticut, plus Hopkinton and Charlestown were also among those who received thanks for rushing into an unknown situation.
