(Providence, RI)--Governor Gina Raimondo on Friday signed an executive order committing Rhode Island to be completely powered by renewable electricity by the end of the decade.The executive order directs the state's Office of Energy Resources to conduct analysis and develop policies and programs to reach the goal, according to Raimondo's office.The governor says Rhode Island is already leading the fight against climate change, but needs to take increasingly aggressive action to avoid a catastrophe.The executive order was promised earlier last week in Raimondo's State of the State address.
