Teacher Previously Arrested For Child Molestation In RI Faces New Charges

(Killingly, CT)--A teacher arrested last year in Rhode Island for child molestation is facing a sexual assault charge in Connecticut.State police there accuse Nicholas Oliveira, a former special education teacher in Cumberland, of inappropriately touching a nine-year-old girl at a campground in Killingly, Connecticut in July of 2018.Police in Lincoln, Rhode Island had previously arrested Oliveira last September on two counts of child molestation for alleged incidents involving two young girls.The superintendent of Cumberland Schools had said the charges were not related to his teaching position, and that Oliveira had already been placed on leave.
