(Providence, RI)--A Thursday evening fire in Providence was reportedly caused by a seven-year-old child who was left home alone.Firefighters were called to a third-floor apartment on Hudson Street at around 5:30 p.m. after the child reportedly set a couch on fire by accident while trying to light a candle.Reports indicate firefighters quickly were on the scene and that the seven-year-old was rescued by a couple of civilians and then taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital for possible smoke inhalation.Fire officials said the child's mother had to leave for work, and the father wasn't home yet, so the child was left solo; police notified DCYF.
