Governor Declares Coronavirus-Caused State Of Emergency

(Providence, RI)--Governor Rina Raimondo on Monday declared a state of emergency in Rhode Island over the novel coronavirus outbreak.Raimondo said the declaration allows the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency to establish "mobile support units" and it allows for quick access to the National Guard.Other states that have declared states of emergency over the virus outbreak have included California, Florida, New York, Oregon, and Washington.Rhode Island's positive coronavirus total is at three, although WJAR-TV reported Monday that an employee working at a CVS office in Lincoln has tested positive; the company said the employee does not reside in the state.
