(Tiverton, RI)--The town of Tiverton has reached a settlement with a former police sergeant who was arrested twice by the Rhode Island State Police.According to a report from the Newport Daily News, William Munroe will continue to receive his pension, health benefits and will get additional compensation.The agreement back-dates Munroe's service to the day before he allegedly took gasoline from town pumps for his personal vehicle in 2018, leading to the first arrest.Munroe resigned earlier this year.
