Alleged Crime Family Associate's Conviction Upheld

(Providence, RI)--A conviction of a purported Patriarca crime family associate was upheld by the Rhode Island Supreme Court on Tuesday. The Providence Journal reports the high court rejected arguments that a Superior Court judge improperly coached prosecutors, among other claims, at the bench trial of Anthony Parrillo, who was accused of a vicious beating of a man and assaulting his wife at a bar he managed on Federal Hill in Providence in 2011.The state Supreme Court previously got involved after Parrillo was sentenced in 1982 for two murders in what was only the second time a jury in the state had convicted someone of murder without a body.He was re-sentenced.
