All Charges Dismissed In Flint Audio Video Case

(Middletown, RI)--All charges have been dismissed in the case of an owner and employees of an East Bay business being accused of plotting to obtain explicit images of female customers and sharing them. The Providence Journal reports a Superior Court judge dismissed the charges of accessing a computer for fraudulent purposes and conspiracy faced by owner Gary Gagne and four former workers of Flint Audio Video in Middletown last week. The group of five, plus another worker who has since died, were charged after a different employee reported allegations of the activity in 2018.The judge ruled the conduct of viewing and copying the files did not fall within the language of the state law under which they were charged.
