(Middletown, RI)--A Portsmouth man is facing a charge of failing to stop for a fatal accident in connection to a crash that killed a bicyclist last month in Middletown.Paul Gomes was arrested last week after the crash that caused the death of Elias Velasquez Chavez of Newport on May 22nd, according to the Middletown Police Department.Authorities say they were able to match video of a speeding car from the area where the incident happened to a vehicle registered to Gomes.
