Lawmakers Approve Bill Banning 3D-Printed Guns, 'Ghost Guns'

(Providence, RI)--The Rhode Island General Assembly has approved a ban on 3D-printed guns and untraceable or undetectable guns known as "ghost guns".Governor Gina Raimondo has publicly indicated she intends to sign into law the bill that was sent to her desk.The legislation calls for a prison sentence of up to ten years and up to ten-thousand dollars in fines for violations.The Rhode Island House passed another bill last night on to the Senate that requires background checks for firearm purchases to be run by the buyer's hometown police department.
