(Providence, RI)--There's no decision yet on whether Providence students will have to change schools for the next school year. That was the message from Superintendent Harrison Peters during a virtual townhall with hundreds of kindergarten through eighth grade parents. Peters laid out several scenarios, including the neighborhood school option. That option stems from a shortage of school buses after state guidelines for social distancing. This would move students to their neighborhood schools, allowing more students to walk to school. A separate presentation for Providence high school students is planned for later this month.
