(Providence, RI)--Governor Raimondo said yesterday some Rhode Island restaurants are "not even trying" when it comes to guidance for staying safe for the coronavirus, and that the state is going to step up enforcement. The governor warned if inspectors see egregious disregard in the areas of social-distancing or mask wearing, a fine could be given the first time and a shutdown could be ordered for the second violation.Raimondo specifically pointed out the problem with congregating at bars. She said shutting establishments down is not something the state wants to do, but that it's unfair for other restaurants that are following the rules.
