(Providence, RI)--Governor Gina Raimondo is concerned for schoolchildren who need in-person learning as education leaders in Rhode Island try to figure out virus pandemic learning plans for the upcoming school year.Raimondo said at her now-once-a-week coronavirus briefing on Wednesday children are suffering nutritionally, intellectually, and emotionally, and she's worried most about those who live in poverty and for whom distance learning was a challenge in the second half of this past school year. The governor said it's too early to throw in the towel on in-person learning, and that there is work to be done to be ready by August 31st.
