(Providence, RI) -- The U.S. Senate is moving forward to nominate Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo as commerce secretary. Senators voted yesterday 84 to 15, which will now move on to a final confirmation vote. The final decision could come as soon as this afternoon. Senator Jack Reed tweeted his congratulations, saying it was a strong, bipartisan vote in support of Raimondo.
