Gov. McKee Moves Closer to Choosing Lt. Governor

(Providence, RI) -- The list of Rhode Island lieutenant governor applicants is about to get smaller.  Whoever is picked will be filling Governor Dan McKee's old position until the term expires in 2022. Sixty people received an initial interview.  A spokesperson for McKee tells WPRI-TV it's expected that about ten individuals will get a second interview. Providence City Council President Sabina Matos, former Central Falls Mayor James Diossa, and state Senator Lou DiPalma are considered to be among the top contenders.
