16,000 COVID-19 vaccine appointments will be made available in Rhode Island on Friday, April 16th at 5pm. Governor Dan McKee made that announcement on Thursday at his weekly press briefing. McKee said that the state is on track to meet its goal of having 70% of the population partially vaccinated in May and fully vaccinated in June. On Monday, April 19th, all Rhode Islanders age 16 or older become eligible for the vaccine.
