(Providence, RI) -- The Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council is signing off on the South Fork Wind Farm. The Providence Journal reports the key approval for the proposed wind farm in the Rhode Island Island Sound was given on Wednesday despite concerns about the potential environmental impact and effect on the fishing industry. The wind farm, pending federal approval, will deliver electricity to Long Island, New York.
