(Pawtucket, RI) -- A public swimming pool in Pawtucket gets badly needed life guard assistance from an unusual source. WJAR reported yesterday that Pawtucket Police officers and firefighters are volunteering for life guard duty at the Fairlawn Veterans Memorial Park Pool. The volunteers were called upon due to a life guard shortage despite an offer from the city to pay life guards 15-dollars an hour pay and cover the life guard certification cost.
