Speeding Rampant on Newport And Jamestown Bridges

(Jamestown, RI) -- The head of the Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority says some people are driving at unacceptably-high rates of speed on the Newport and Jamestown bridges. A newly-released study using data from a week's worth of drivers in July indicated nearly half of them were going 15 miles per hour or more over the speed limit. The Rhode Island State Police says it is working with local law enforcement and the RITBA to immediately increase enforcement.
