Brown University Scientist Dies During Bike Race

(Concord, NH) -- A scientist at Brown University died during a regional New England bicycle race last weekend. 33 year-old Evan Barr-Beare was competing in a race in Concord, New Hampshire. He was leading the pack when he suffered a medical issue and crashed, according to race organizers. Barr-Beare had gone on the record about living in Providence without a car in favor of commuting via bike. At Brown, he was on the staff of the Mouse Transgenic and Gene Targeting Facility.
