(Providence, RI) -- A Providence man is facing federal charges for allegedly carrying out a fraud scheme and assaulting federal agents. The Justice Department says Paul Diogenes created a fictitious catering company to obtain credit from food distributors to purchase hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of products. It's further alleged that Diogenes nearly ran down an FBI agent during an unsuccessful attempt to arrest him on August 3rd. Diogenes remained a fugitive for over a week before he was caught at a hotel in Middleboro, Massachusetts.
