(Providence, RI) -- Rhode Island Department of Health Director Doctor Nicole Alexander-Scott is urging a mask mandate for all students and staff this fall. In a letter to school officials statewide, she says public health guidance is clear, to prevent widespread transmission of coronavirus, masks are necessary regardless of vaccination status. Alexander-Scott says it's imperative that mask requirements be enforced in order to protect public health and safety.
