National Grid Working On Restoring Henri-Caused Outages

National Grid is racing to get electricity restored for tens of thousands of Rhode Island customers who experienced a power outage due to Tropical Storm Henri. High temperatures of around 90 degrees are in the forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, so there will be a big need for the air conditioners. Overnight Monday, National Grid was still reporting 45,000 outages. Governor Dan McKee said on Sunday it will take several days to fully assess the damage from yesterday's storm caused by downed trees. Rhode Island is one of three states that has been approved for federal emergency funding.
