Providence Police Seize More Dirt Bikes and ATVs in Latest Incident

(Providence, RI) -- Providence police made several arrests and seized street-illegal vehicles during a roundup on Sunday. A group of about 50 fled from a gas station on Smithfield Avenue after the cops showed up, acting on numerous called-in complaints. One operator reportedly broke the tail light of a police cruiser before fleeing the scene. There has been a renewed focus on the illegal riding activity in Providence after a woman was pulled out of a car and assaulted by a group of ATV and dirt bikers last month.
