Teachers Honored During Partial WaterFire Ceremony
(Providence, RI) -- Educators were in the spotlight in a partial WaterFire spectacle in Providence. Saturday night's event was dedicated in honor of teachers of the year at the Celebrating Educational Excellence commemoration. Rhode Island education chief Angelica Infante Green says the WaterFire flames are symbolic of the passion for teaching shared by the state's dedicated educators. Teachers carried torches they used to ignite the braziers at Waterplace Park. A full WaterFire lighting extravaganza happens October 2nd.
