Federal Judge To Decide Vaccine Mandate

A federal judge is considering the merits of a lawsuit challenging a vaccine mandate for health care workers at state-licensed facilities in Rhode Island.

They say they should have access to medical and religious exemptions.

The judge heard arguments during a hearing that ended this afternoon with no immediate decision on a request for a temporary restraining order.

The workers face a Friday deadline to be vaccinated against coronavirus or risk losing their jobs.

There is no word on when the judge will actually decide the issue.
