Rhode Island Ready For First Of Afghan Evacuees

Rhode Island is getting its first Afghanistan evacuees next week, according to the Dorcas International Institute, one of the organizations helping with the resettlement effort.

Thirty-one-year-old Amin Faquiry, who worked as an interpreter for the U.S. military, is moving to the Ocean State along with his pregnant wife and their four children.

The estimated number of Afghan refugees coming to the Ocean State in total is two-hundred-fifty.

Officials haven't said where in the state the family will reside.
